Our client is a high-growth FinTech company expanding worldwide.

We are looking for someone with the right blend of operational prowess to get great work done, the sales and negotiation skills needed to engage and partner with the biggest and best market players, creative thinking to problem solve and execute local plans, and exceptional leadership skills required to lead a fast-paced fintech organization and inspire the direct team and global stakeholders.


A successful candidate will have hands-on experience building a business from the ground up, will be excited about the responsibility of owning the local market, is customer obsessed and can switch from big picture to the details to be hands on in improving and iterating on operational excellence and delivering customer-first experience.


Owning the country P&L, sales strategy and execution, marketing, account management, product development, team development and coaching, and customer experience will all be within the scope of responsibilities.


Having a hands-on and deep understanding of the local market will be critical to the Country Manager’s success. It’s a balance of creativity, problem solving, leadership and delivering results all within a lean environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- From first on the ground, the Country Manager will be tasked with building, developing and leading a team of smart and passionate people towards building company presence in Uzbekistan.
- Set the local go-to-market strategy with the team and be responsible for the execution and delivering results in Uzbekistan

- Work cross functionally with various stakeholders around the world: collaborate with the Product & Engineering, Finance, Sales Operations, Marketing, etc to ensure the market is getting the right support.
- Develop deep understanding of category-specific value propositions.
- Define the product portfolio based on the market needs. Define and manage the implementation of product changes needed to meet the market requirements
- Drive product innovation to unlock new business opportunities in Uzbekistan
- Develop and scale sales and account management functions, continuing to expand our reach in Uzbekistan, while helping our partners to reach more customers and scale with us.
- Develop and manage key relationships with regulators, banks, customers and other ecosystem players in Uzbekistan
- Manage the process of the application for all necessary licenses required to run UP business activities in Uzbekistan
- Establish necessary business processes to ensure full regulatory compliance with all applicable banking, tax, data management and IT regulations
Business outcomes
- Ownership of delivery of the country P&L performance and KPIs.
- Build and develop a strong local team, shape the hiring strategy, own the budget
- Develop and execute the local company’s business strategies in order to achieve significant growth goals. Strategic partners and customer growth are key.
- Engage and grow our portfolio and transaction volumes.
- Ensure regulations, company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are well understood and followed by the team at all times.
