We are looking for an editor for the German Publishing House OWC

Tasks

  • Editorial research - establishing additional, direct resources/connections
  • Writing news and articles for OstContact and RusslandInsider&RI D (in German language)
  • Contact to established and new authors
  • Scheduling and monitoring, networking function for editorial office (Moscow/Berlin)
  • Procurement of pictures for the articles
  • Video production (coordination and editing if necessary)
  • Planning and preparation of internal meetings
  • Administrative activities, such as material procurement, filing, document management, etc.

Requirements / Characteristics

  • Professional journalistic education
  • Proven professional experience in the journalistic field (at least 2-3 years)
  • Creative, versatile writer talent
  • High level of general knowledge
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, proactive, disciplined, able to work under pressure
  • Structured, thoroughly working method, 'terrier attitude', team spirit
  • Vivid, authentic, sympathy generating personality
  • Advanced (close to native) German language skills – spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of Russian
  • Proof of loyalty (no 'job hopper')
  • Able to suitably represent owc and to communicate at eye level on respective occasions (adequate appearance)

  • Schedule – MON-FRI flexible start of working day 8 – 10 a.m.
