Our company MediaCom (part of GroupM groups of companies, as well as part of WPP) is looking for candidates for Senior Econometrician role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead econometric projects, scenario planning and budget optimization with several clients (leading Russian and International companies);
- Develop econometric modeling and simulations/forecasts applied to marketing mix optimization, pricing optimization to support our client engagements.
- participation in briefings (if necessary), conducting interviews with Clients
- analysis and identification of dependencies for the estimated indicators, definition of the main business drivers
- econometric modeling, assessment of effectiveness, ROI of marketing investments, effect of advertising campaigns
- recommendations of marketing investments optimization, strategic recommendations to increase cost efficiency
- Build forecasts and budgets based on historical and future data as part of the planning process.
3. Act as primary day-to-day contact on insights and analytics for strategy team, digital and traditional media managers and the client team.
4. Manage project timelines and deliverable schedules and escalate and resolve concerns about deliverables, timelines and other issues regarding the project managed with the manager and the client.
5. Manage the retrieving, compiling, and formatting of large volumes of data.
6. Utilize syndicated research tools to retrieve various types of data (macroeconomic, marketing, business, etc.)
7. Analyze data to generate graphics for use in client presentations (or dashboards).
8. Manage and mentor analysts/junior econometricians on projects to ensure excellence and professional development.
Skills and Behaviors:
- Excellent Client service skills
- Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations using statistical and econometric modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of visual techniques for data analysis and presentation (ppt is a must), presentation skills
- Comprehensive understanding of metrics: Media (e.g. impression, GRP, CPV etc.), Measurement analytics, Quantitative business measures (LTV, ROI, Effectiveness, etc.), Statistics (Correlations, t-value, VIF etc.).
- Understanding of industry research sources, such as or TV/online advertising data, Nielsen/IRI sales data.
- Capability/experience of work with E-Views /Statistica / SPSS/ R / Python, or any other advanced analytics software package or strong interest to develop this skills
- Experience in managing and mentoring team members
- Fluent English (ability to lead project discussions and presentations in english)
Qualifications and other relevant information:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Background in Maths, Statistics, Econometrics (Interests, Studies, Courses)
- An MS degree in Statistics, Economics, or Applied Math is a plus.
- 2-5 years related work experience (media strategy, media planning, econometric modeling, analytic, research).
Will be a plus:
- Write and test macros that help automate data/modeling process using SAS, SPSS, Excel VBA, SQL Server
- Familiarity with SQL and proven experience working with at least one of the major databases platforms
